I'm hosting A Giveaway!!!!

I want to tell you about my favorite children's author. Her name is Karen Katz. She wrote Ashlyn's all time favorite book. I started reading this book to her when she was a baby and she still loves it and now so do Gaby, Ryan, and Brooke. The name of this particular book is called "Counting Kisses" but I haven't read a Karen Katz book that I didn't love. Here are a couple of our favorites. "Twinkle Toes" is perfect for your little princess. It has a piece of pink fabric on the front cover for a skirt and each page has a piece of fabric for your baby to feel. If you have boys, don't worry cause Ryan loves this one too.
"Daddy and Me" is a fun one about a building project with Daddy. Each page has a flap to lift to find the hidden tool. She makes board books that can withstand 4 toddlers so that tells you they are pretty durable. I will warn you though that her "lift the flap" books, though loads of fun for little ones, I no longer leave mine unattended. We had some really cute ones that are now missing their flaps.

So to really show you just how much I love her books I'm going to give 3 free books away to one lucky winner. Of course they will be new and not the ones that my kids have loved up. All you have to do is leave a comment here saying that you are interested. If you don't have little ones, maybe you know someone that would like them for a gift. If you are the winner, I will even let you pick the books. Karen Katz pretty much has one for every occasion.

I'll leave this up for a week and on Friday, September 5th, I'll take all the names from the comments and host a drawing. I'll contact the winner to get a name and address and mail you the free books.

Oh, and because you could also use a treat yourself, I'm going to throw in this cookbook for you. Isn't it cute? It's also a great support for breast cancer awareness, so its twice as nice.

If your wondering why I am hosting this drawing, it's for 2 reasons really. One, I am feeling generous and really want to share my love of books (and cooking).

And two, I know because I have a site meter that I have lots of viewers from all over the country but I rarely get to read comments from you. Call me selfish but I would love it if you could even just say Hi. So maybe this will entice you into leaving a comment, just this one time. The contest is open to anyone. I don't care if you're related, a friend, or just happen upon this site. The drawing will be fair and I promise not to cheat.

Good luck!!

Oh, and if you're a guy and you read my blog, you don't have to take the pink cookbook. We can switch it out for a different one. I know at least my brothers read my blog, or at least they say they do. I could even find you a nice book about sports or motorcycles. How's that sound?

Good idea Cadi! We love Karen Katz too. Denver has "Peek a Boo" and has loved it since he got it as a baby. If he were crying and we couldn't get him to stop we'd just pull out this book and everything would be better. Sign us up! :)

The books look adorable. I will have to look for them, as I have my first grandchild and of course I want to pass on my love of reading. Today is my first visit (from amazing trips) and will continue to visit.

I love her books, too! My favorite one is, "Mommy Hugs!" My almost 4 year old just loves it!!! She would just love more of the books!

My girls have literally "loved to pieces" all the Katz books that we have... granted they were all lift the flaps. I didn't realize there were so many others!

Great giveaway, and even though it lessens our chances of winning, I hope you get tons of comments. As a blogger it is so nice to see those comments and know at least a little about the folks who are reading!

Hello Cadi!

It's funny that this is your latest entry because I was visiting with our cousin Lori(Ellen's daughter) and we discussed how we both love your site and what an entertaining writer you are. Especially when you're taking potshots at Lance(my opinion only). Lori mentioned she's never posted a comment but always wanted to. I encouraged her to do so and hopefully this contest will inspire her.
Take care and hope to see you at Christmas time.
If I win I may be re-gifting (this may give me an edge in winning).

Just found your blog today, as I am preparing to bring my two year old to get admitted to the hospital:-( through the Four Silly Sisters blog. I love your thought about blogging being therapy, it surely is for me. What a generous idea you have, we have favorites at our house too:-)
